Shane Ballard is Costume Designer and Illustrator for stage and screen. He served as Costume Concept Artist for Steven Spielberg’s forthcoming remake of West Side Story and the biopic, Harriet…based on the life of Harriet Tubman, NBC’s Emmy Award winning production, The Wiz Live and HBO’s The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks starring Oprah Winfrey. Costume design credits include: Hair- Berkshire Theater Group, An Octoroon- Rutgers Theater Company, Madame Infamy - The NY Musical Theater Festival, One Day- 3LD Art and Technology Center and Oliver The Musical- El Museo del Barrio. He’s also designed costumes in the world of dance including: Jerome Robbins Award winning choreographer, Stefanie Batten-Bland’s, Embarqued and several collaborations with the dance company, Brotherhood Dance. He currently teaches Costume Design and Illustration at Rutgers University, Mason Gross School Of The Arts. Ballard is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
